As of academic year 2025–2026, it is not necessary to leave an elective open.
However, starting from academic year 2026–2027, students must have completed their Master's programme before going on exchange.
As the Exchange Office will normally confirm your acceptance to the master exchange programme after the elective registration rounds, we strongly advise that you proceed with both the Master Programme Electives round and the Open Elective round of the elective registration anyway in order to be allocated three electives.
